Valley Presbyterian Hospital (2010)

Valley Presbyterian officially opened their new lactation center on May 10, 2010 . As part of the hospital’s commitment to provide supportive policies, facilities and resources for breastfeeding mothers, a Breastfeeding Task Force was formed. The Task Force, comprised of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, clinical dietitians, physician champions and the VPH foundation, recognized the need for a lactation center in the hospital to encourage more mothers to breastfeed and educate mothers on the benefits of The room itself has three private spaces for moms to pump. It also contains a miniature refrigerator where they can store the milk, storage space for pumps, and a sink. A free breastfeeding support group is also available to employees who need additional breastfeeding support.
