Small firms can provide support to breastfeeding employees. The Salvation Army in Glendale employs 11 people. Employees are able to use their offices for breastfeeding and pumping. New mothers are able to take breaks to express their milk when needed. Even in a small office an understanding of the importance of breastfeeding is necessary and welcome

Breastfeeding Works is a project of the Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles that promotes the implementation of employee policies and programs to support lactation in the workplace. Breastfeeding Works also aims to provide self advocacy tools and technical assistance to employees seeking help in transitioning back into the workforce and continuing to breastfeed.
