Family Health Promotion Award

for

Breastfeeding Friendly Workplaces

There are three essential requirements to ensure that employees can successfully combine work and breastfeeding.

Time: Allow employees sufficient break time to pump, or provide flexible work hours.

Space: Have available comfortable, clean and private space for expression and storing breastmilk or provide nearby or on-site child care so that employees can breastfeed on break and lunch.

Support: Develop "mother-friendly" workplace policies, improve attitudes towards breastfeeding by educating workers and management about the benefits of breastfeeding.

The Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles, through its Breastfeeding Works Program, recognizes the efforts of companies who understand the need to provide an environment for its employees to a achieve a balanced work and family life.

If your employer helps you to combine work and breastfeeding or you know of another company that helps their employees in this way you can nominate them for a Family Health Promotion Award by filling out this application form.

Applications will be considered annually. Please submit by June 30.
