Nominate Your Employer for the Family Health Promotion Award
The Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles, through its Breastfeeding Works Program, recognizes the efforts of companies who understand the need to provide an environment for its employees to a achieve a balanced work and family life.
If your employer helps you to combine work and breastfeeding or you know of another company that helps their employees in this way you can nominate them for a Family Health Promotion Award by filling out the form below.
The Family Health Promotion Awards are announced each fall. The deadline to submit an application is September 15th.
There are three essential requirements to ensure that employees can successfully combine work and breastfeeding.
Time: Allow employees sufficient break time to pump, or provide flexible work hours.
Space: Have available comfortable, clean and private space for expression and storing breastmilk or provide nearby or on-site child care so that employees can breastfeed on break and lunch.
Support: Develop "mother-friendly" workplace policies, improve attitudes towards breastfeeding by educating workers and management about the benefits of breastfeeding.
